Native to Asia and Europe, Burdock roots have been used for centuries in holistic medicine to treat a variety of conditions. Traditionally, it was used as a diuretic and digestive aid. More recently, research has found it to contain multiple types of antioxidants and phenolic acid. A taproot variety, it is a relative of the dandelion and has a flavor similar to the artichoke.

“ Well...glad I didn't buy this herb for the taste. LOL My best description is that burdock brewed by itself has a taste akin to ginger, mushrooms and sweatsocks. BUT...i bought this for the medicinal benefits. Wonderful quality dried burdock. Brewed 212F, 20 minutes. Then I warmed up the tea a bit...added some peppermint tea and brewed another 3 minutes. That was the only way I was going to be able to drink 8 oz of this concoction. Lovely taste after tea added...the strong taste of peppermint kept mushroom/sweatsock vibe in the background. Very drinkable. :) I will definitely be using this often and buying more when my 3 oz bag gets low. ”
