If you have a friend who is feeling a bit under the weather or you want to take a little something to someone in the hospital, pair this with a pretty mug and it becomes a very special way to say Get Well Soon. A gift that lasts a bit longer than just a card alone.

A medicinal tea that doesn't taste medicinal. Lovely blend of mint, ginger, licorice and fennel. Very calming to mind and tummy. The flavors blend together to make a sweet, minty pleasant flavor. I can see this being great for illness recovery and stress relief. I love mint so steeped mine a bit longer for a stronger flavor. 3/11/2021 - I use this tea frequently when I'm under the weather. In my experience, it calms coughs and an upset tummy, and soothes away the aches and pains of a cold. Medicinal without tasting medicinal. (8 mins @ 200°F)

It looked like a bunch of herbs and spices had escaped from my pantry and into my communiTEA packet overnight! Most everybody was present and jiggling with excitement. However, the cloves decided to stay in the pantry. I’ll take care of them at a later date. Strong peppermint aromas were noted. I performed a 175°F steep ‘cause I don’t have a 180 button on my steeper. I steeped for two and a half minutes to make-up for the lower temperature. When hot, there was an appropriate amount of moderate astringency from the licorice and fennel that caused the back sides of my tongue to curl and pucker! The licorice stick I noted in my packet earlier was really doing a number! Mild peppermint and ginger flavors were noted, Black peppercorns supplied moderate zings on my taste buds. I added ¼ teaspoon of sugar to sweeten things and bring out more flavors. When warm, moderate licorice flavors, without the astringency, were noted. Mild peppercorn zings were still present. The cardamom provided mild menthol flavors. Peppermint and ginger flavors were mild. Of course, no clove flavors were noted. Buttery green tea flavors were mild. Towards finish, the green tea provided a buttery smoothness that melded all players into a very pleasant multi-layered sip! This blend was a fine display of different spice and herb flavors, and how well they can combine their efforts into one pleasant drink! However, a second steep was weak with muddled flavors. (2 mins 30 secs @ 175ºF, ¼ tsp sugar)

Green tea, ginger and mint to calm the mind and the stomach when feeling out of sorts. I was afraid the licorice and fennel would outpace the flavor of the mint and ginger but I was pleasantly surprised that it was mild.

Ingredients & Lore

blended with green tea, peppermint leaves, ginger, cardamom, licorice, fennel seed, cloves, marigold flowers & black peppercorn

Ginger is known as a common cold and flu fighter, with ginger tea being a pro-active favorite for many during the winter months. Mint, which has long been lauded for its ability to soothe tummy troubles, is another go-to for getting well soon. The leaves contain menthol, a soothing, cooling product that is commonly used in salves and medicines used to clear congestion. Combine these two with the warmer, spicier notes of cardamom and peppercorn and the sweeter flavors of licorice and fennel, and you've got a healthy, balanced brew to get you back to being you.

Historically the herb has been used to treat a variety of ailments, especially those related to digestive issues, including IBS. The menthol contained in peppermint has also been used to combat nausea and help clear nasal passages.

In addition to that minty clean feeling in your toothpaste, peppermint oil has also demonstrated an ability to kill bad bacteria in the mouth.
