“ I love Advent calendars! They are a fun way to countdown to Christmas. Adagio's Advent calendars come as a loose leaf version and a tea bag version. The teas are different in each one, so you can look and see which teas are included, but still be surprised when you open the daily window because they aren't listed in order on the website. ”

“ This Advent Calendar arrived carefully packaged to protect the display box. It’s a beautiful box and I’m looking forward to opening the doors each day and enjoying the tea of the day. I will thoroughly enjoy it and it would also make a great gift for a tea drinker, introducing them to the wonderful world of Adagio. ”

“ I loved Adagios Joyeux advent calendar so much this year that I decided to order 2 Evergreen advents this year! They really are fun, even if I can't have every tea due to allergies. I would highly recommend these! ”
The history of the Advent Calendar dates to the mid-19th century when German Protestants made chalk marks on doors or lit candles to count the days leading up to Christmas. In the U.S. however, Dwight D. Eisenhower is often credited for popularizing the Advent calendar tradition. During his presidency, Ike was photographed opening an Advent calendar with his grandchildren and the photo ran in several national newspapers.
